Identity

My family is Tongan.I have 8 brothers and 4 sisters and their names are Saia, Manu, Soane, Kue’a, Viliami, Sia, Luisa, Sifa, Lani, Teaki, Nane and Luci. My mum and dads name is Vikilani and Nolini. In Tonga they eat a lot of fruit and they eat food that make them skinny.

In Tonga how you say thank you in Tonga is malo and how you say I miss you in Tonga is ofa atu. Another word you could say is fefe hake, which means how are you.

A tradition of Tonga is when we do birthdays. When we do birthdays we always blow the candles out then we sing the happy birthday song but that's the only differences between Tongan birthdays and normal birthdays.

At home we speak english but my mum and dad speak Tongan. Sometimes they try so hard to speak tongan and they can but not properly.

Here is a picture of the Tongan flag. I hope you learnt something new about me.

Te Oro Field-trip

Today the senior school went to Te Oro to watch a play called The man whose mother was a pirate.During our short ride to Te Oro we hopped off and went in to the theatre. We waited a little while then finally the performance started. My favourite part was when the cow came out and was shaking its butt on the people who were in the audience and because it was walking like a girl. Some parts were funny, and some were not. This trip was the funniest trip I have ever been on maybe i’ll go there next year.

Thank you Gift a Seat for giving us a free eat  tickets and thank you Te Oro for having us.

Trip to the Vodafone Event Centre

Yesterday, Room 9 went to the Vodafone Event Centre. At first all students came to class when the bell rang.We got settled down after we came into class. Then my teacher Miss Smith did the morning roll. We then went to the hall. After the talk from Mrs Patea we
hopped onto the bus and going. During our ride to the Vodafone Event Centre we sang some songs like old town road and some Maori songs. As soon as we arrived at the Vodafone Event Centre we sat down on the floor. When we were sitting on the floor some of the schools were going to the theatre where we were going to see the New Zealand illustrators and authors.

Our school got to sit near the top of all chairs. After that, a lady started the whole performance. When we were near the end of the whole show me and my friend Lesley did a quiz and we were versing all the schools that were at the centre. At the end me and Lesley got a prize for winning the quiz. After a long ride we had to go home because we came back right at the end of school.

It was a nice day. I had a lot of fun and it was funny and cool and I would like to go back there again sometime later.

Cockroaches

My poster about cockroaches.

Today's Information report is about centipedes.A centipede is made out of segments.A segment is the little piece that makes the legs stick on to the body.
Image result for how do centipedes communicate

How a centipede kills its predators, well first it will sting the predator with its fang but I wouldn't say sting like a bee some people would say bite. So after they bite they will spread the poisonous through the fang then they die.

Centipedes have pretty simple eyes so they probably communicate using touch smell and they can feel vibration that's probably another way to communicate for centipedes.

As a human we noses so we can smell. We can smell oil, vanilla, tea tree oil which smells great but to centipedes it is overwhelming for them.

I will finish off this report with some more facts. Centipedes are only active at night. Centipedes also sting or bite to protect themselves.

Lifecycle of a butterfly

Related image
A life cycle of a butterfly or moth starts with a little tiny egg.At first when the baby awakens it bites a little hole and crawls out. When the caterpillar is out it will eat its shell then eat the leaf it is.

The second step of the life cycle is a caterpillar. It is also known as the larva.A caterpillar always eats to make itself grow but that's all it does.

The third step is pupa .pupa is when a caterpillar puts itself in a cocoon. After caterpillar is in its cocoon it will take about 14 to 15 days for it to form into a butterfly.

Last but not least we have the adult butterfly.Sometimes a caterpillar can turn into a moth. When a caterpillar is well formed it is ready to have babies and live a butterfly life.

If I could be a insect

If I could be an insect for one day, what kind would you be and why.

For starters I would be a butterfly because they make me happy and their very colourful.Their one of the prettiest insects ever.I could fly around the world seeing other countries like France,Tonga and Niue.I could even eat nectar like bees except i'm beautiful.Butterflies use their legs for drinking, double awesome.Butterflies can be camouflage, so the predators can’t find them.Moths do that to but again i'm prettier.

If  was camouflage I would trick my butterfly family into thinking i'm gone and scare them when they start crying.

I could annoy people by fluttering in their faces.I could make my own dance like the bees but mine is called flutter flutter in your face.

That's it for this story see you next time.Flutter you later.

Information report

Did you know that bees are insects? Bees are insects because they have six legs and 3 body parts.Bees eat nectar and collect pollen. When they collect pollen they turn it into honey.

Bees live in bee hives with the queen bee.If a bee does not have a job they will have to protect the queen from all predators.

All pieces of hair on the bee's body make the pollen stick on the bees hair.Bees are the colour black and yellow.

All insects have antennae or feelers.Bees use their antennae or feelers to smell and to detect odors or the directions to adors.

Bees and wasps are a little similar. If you look at a bee and wasp they don't really match.Wasps sting and bees sting to but to only protect themselves

Bees communicate using their movement and physical action. When bees communicate they do a dance called the waggle dance.

Wow I hope you learned a lot because i'm sure I did.Buzz you later.
